Solidarity & Action!

Solidarity & Action!

A lot is happening in the world right now.

Let’s talk…

Conscious Clothing has been here for 19 years. From the beginning, the foundations of our company emphasized people over profit (watch a video about that here). Our principles were conscious in more ways than one_ we rejected popular & money-saving notions of sending work overseas, rejected the idea of building our company & success in support of modern slave labor, and rejecting materials we knew would negatively affect the planet

We continue to lift up our communities, and have worked hard to maintain our principles. We return to them with changing times & shifting viewpoints, and we believe in the power of our voices and our platform to lift up, speak out, and validate those who may not be able to, through cultural, socioeconomic,
or systemic challenges.

Local & national voices are telling us that it’s time to show up for one another in more ways—perhaps more visibly, and we hear that. We stand in solidarity with the Black Community and look to acknowledge all the ways that we, as white small-business owners, can do better to listen.

We are being called to speak up & to use our platform to not only bring awareness to environmental impact we see in the fashion industry, but to acknowledge the way human resources are being affected by systemic economic and race issues_
locally, nationally, & globally.

This acknowledgement is not a fad for our brand, nor has it been in the past. We actively make a point to donate, support, and give back when it concerns protection of our planet & members of a community that have been discriminated against.

For the sake of visibility & accountability, our viewpoints and support from this day forward will be available as a resource to you. We will be taking the following initiatives_

1) Our Everybody Collection is an acknowledgement of clothing for bodies not labels; and stands on the premise that skin, gender, or pronoun, shouldn’t be a part of the ability to find clothing to wear. Every month, a percentage of sales from the EveryBODY Collection will be donated to relevant organizations that are fighting injustice, both locally & nationally.

2) A percentage of all sales for the remainder of this month will be donated to bailout programs in the US_ for those on the front lines working on the front lines to promote change in the Black Community.

See a list of Local & National Bailout Funds

3) A “Donations & Education” section of our website is currently under construction. This will list the causes and communities that are the recipients of our donations, and also serve as a resource to you. We continue our work to further educate ourselves and our audience.

You are in no way under obligation to donate or give back by way of our company. In fact, we encourage you to support and show up for the Black Community locally, as well as the environment and global community as a whole. We encourage you to donate your time as well as your financial resources to the people where you live.

We are proud to have such meaningful work to do, and honor the human lives of our customers and friends who fight injustice - whatever that looks like for you.
